Amy tan, a young, quite and shy Chinese girl was born in America. She was living with her mother in Chinatown on Sacramento Street in San Francisco (California). Her mother was an ambitious Chinese woman, who wants her daughter to be an American prodigy. Her mother had come to America in 1949, after losing everything in china; her home, her husband and her daughters. This story is all about what Amy’s mother wants Amy to be and what Amy Wants to be. Amy’s mother believes that she could be anything she wanted to be in America. Her mother wants her to be perfect in everything. This story takes place around the 1960’s. In the beginning, When she got haircut from a training school, it made her very mad with her mother because did not like it at all. After that when her mother sent her for piano classes to Mr. Chong, She did not like it too because she was not interested in it. At the talent show, she made her mother very disappointed because she did not do well at the show and she made her mother embarrass in front of her friends, Aunt Linda and her cousin Waverly. After the talent show when her mother reminds her about the piano lessons, she refused to go to the piano lessons. Her mother forced her to go and as a result they both had terrible arguments. She shouted at her mother and she said she wished that she were dead as her twin sisters. This was the first time when her mouth stopped saying things to her and after that everything changed. Her mother never said anything to her after the fight. She had stopped going for piano classes. After few years, on her 30^th birthday, her mother offered her piano. She accepted it as a sign of forgiveness. later after her mother’s death when she played the piano, she realized that she enjoyed playing it and she is a good piano player.

Where to Shop in a Mall?

            Is there anyone, who has not been to the mall? A shopping mall is a place where every one likes to go. People like to go to the mall not only for shopping but also for fun, entertainment and relaxation. These days, shopping malls are located in almost every big town. A shopping mall is a modern term for shopping centers. It is a collection of independent retail stores. It may also have restaurants, banks, bars, theaters and more. In the article 'Shopping Innovations', Mary Bellis states, "The first shopping mall was Country Club Plaza and opened in 1922 near Kansas City". Modern malls have many different kinds of stores in them; some of the main stores are beauty stores, clothing stores and shoe stores.

             Beauty stores are designed especially for women. Almost every women want to look more beautiful and attractive. There are many different kinds of beauty stores in the malls. The most popular ones are Sally's, Mac and Bare Minerals.  Sally Hansen has very good and cheap hair colors. Bare Minerals has all the special cosmetic products that are suitable for sensitive skin. Mac products are more expensive than other beauty stores, but they have very high quality. Mac has a variety of cosmetic products; such as, lipsticks, eye shadows, lip-gloss, mascara and many more.

             Every person likes to wear nice clothes. Clothes always play an important role in judging the personality of a person. There are many different kinds of clothing stores in the mall. Clothing stores can be classified as children's clothing stores, teenager clothing stores, women's and men's clothing stores. For children, the most famous stores are Carters and The Children's Place. Teen-age clothing stores are Hollister, Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe. For women and men's clothing, the most popular stores are J C Penny, Macy's and Nordstrom. There are many other clothing stores in different malls. For example, Westfield Mall in Escondido has numerous cheap clothing stores, some of them are Closet, Q, Rue21, Loft and Shimmer.

            People need shoes to protect and comfort their feet while doing different activities. There are various shoe stores at the malls. Leading shoe stores are Payless, Vans, Reflection and Foot locker. Payless has all kinds of reasonably priced shoes such as, work shoes, walking shoes, kid's shoes, sandals and boots. Vans shoes are very popular among the teens because they are a very famous brand these days. Reflection has quality shoes; they are stylish and colorful too. Some people also like to buy shoes from Nordstrom Rack because they are very comfortable for their feet, durable and inexpensive, too.

            In conclusion, a mall is a shopping plaza, which has many different kinds of stores in it.  Beauty stores, clothing stores and shoe stores are the most common stores in all the shopping malls. The most popular shopping malls are indoor shopping malls because they have all the facilities in them. In indoor malls, no one needs to worry about the weather since they are fully air-conditioned, and they have free Wi-Fi. Anyone can go there without paying an entrance fee and can enjoy their whole day sitting.

Delicious Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

            Have you ever had a delicious, creamy peanut butter and jelly sandwich? A peanut butter and jelly sandwich is very quick and easy to make. This sandwich became popular in the United States in the 1920's with the military. When military men had to go out for camping or for practicing the war, they took these sandwiches with them in airtight bags since they lasted longer than other sandwiches. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches became popular with young children in the 1950's. To make this sandwich, the tools you need are a regular metal knife, paper plates and some napkins. The ingredients for this sandwich are bread (white or brown), peanut butter, jelly and honey.

            The first step to make this sandwich is to take two slices of your favorite bread and place the slices on a plastic plate.  Now we need the second ingredient, which is peanut butter. Peanut butter used to consider a delicacy in the 1920's. Peanut butter comes from peanuts. It is made primarily from smashed roasted peanuts and mixed with butter. It is light brown in color. There are two kinds of peanut butter available at grocery stores, one is creamy and the other one is crunchy.  We need creamy peanut butter for this. Spread peanut butter on one side of the both slices of bread with the help of the knife. While making this sandwich, we use creamy peanut butter because if we use the crunchy one, it might tear the bread.

            The second step is to squeeze the jelly from the bottle into the middle of one slice of bread. Jelly comes from fruits. There are different kinds of jelly available at the stores. Grape and strawberry is the most popular kind of jelly. Some other common jellies are apple, apricot, mango and raspberry. We are using grape jelly for this sandwich. Before squeezing the jelly on the sandwich, we need to make sure to not to put too much. If you put too much jelly in the middle, it will spill out the sides of the sandwich and will make a mess.

            The final and last ingredient is honey, which is the secret ingredient. Honey is a sweet and sticky food. Honey comes from bees. Bees produce honey from the nectar of flowers. Honey is often used as a healthy sweetener. Honey is also used for the skin as a mask. It makes the skin shiny and fades scars, too. Honey comes in different flavors and colors. To make the sandwich, use clover honey, which looks like light yellow in color. To make this sandwich more delicious squeeze the bottle of honey and only put a dot of it on the top of the jelly.  Now place the other slice on the top and cut it in half with the knife.

            After spreading on the peanut butter, jelly and honey, your sandwich is ready to eat. This is very easy, quick and cheap to make. We do not need any expensive ingredients for this. All the ingredients are easily available at the Dollar stores. It is a wonderful meal because we do not even need a refrigerator to save this sandwich. We can save this in a regular sandwich bag and it is good for several hours. You can enjoy this sandwich for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This is also great meal because you do not need a kitchen to make this. It is a perfect food for college students.
